If you're here, you're probably wondering, "What's wrong with my copy of THE COLOR PROJECT? Why is there this page at the beginning that says the dedication and author's note are still coming? Why are there typos? Where are the acknowledgments?!?!?!"
If any of these questions crossed your mind when you opened your copy (particularly if you ordered from Book Depository), you probably got a copy of the misprint, which went out last week to Book Depository preorders. (And some of which might go out to Amazon preorders this week...but we hope not.)
I'm seriously so bummed this happened. There was a miscommunication of publication dates and the wrong document - the ARC document - was used to print the first round. This, unfortunately, sets the publication of TCP back a whole month, to August 17th. Everyone who gets a copy before then (you've probably already gotten your copy OR you'll get it this week) and sees they have an ARC copy can follow the instructions laid out below to receive a brand new, finished copy straight from the publisher.
You will need:
- A screenshot of your order confirmation with the order number
- A picture of the misprint copy so we know you got it (probably of the cover and the beginning of the book where it says "Dedication and author's note TK")
- Your name and address
If you send this information to email@example.com, my publisher will hook you up with a brand new copy.
Once again, I am SO sorry this happened. It was out of my control, but I still feel horrible about it. I hope you will take a minute to send your info and proof of purchase in so you can get a finished copy. Even though the ARC copy is still readable, and still holds the same story, I want everyone to have the best version of the book I wrote. You ordered a finished copy, and a finished copy you should receive.
Thank you all for your patience and support during this time. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help! *hugs*
